Technical details

Based on Bootstrap3, WP-ImmoMakler® is optimized for display on desktops, tablets and smartphones ("responsive design") (the WordPress theme used does not have to be based on Bootstrap).

WP-ImmoMakler® automatically supports the srcset attribute for responsive images as of WordPress 4.4.

The design of your website is largely adopted by default (colors, font, etc.). WP-ImmoMakler® can be customized according to your wishes using your own CSS and interchangeable HTML template parts through to the complete in-house development of the front end.

The customizations can be outsourced as a "child plugin" (analogous to WordPress child themes) or as a subfolder in the theme and are therefore safe when updating the WP-ImmoMakler plugin, as no changes are made to the plugin itself.

In principle, WP-ImmoMakler® can be integrated into any WordPress theme.

However, when integrating into so-called RealEstate themes, it should be noted that the theme's internal real estate display and real estate-specific functions cannot be used. Here you can use the display and functionality of WP-ImmoMakler®, which are displayed in the content area as in "normal" themes.

The programming of WP-ImmoMakler® fully adheres to the WordPress coding standards and uses custom post types, post meta and taxonomies to store the real estate data. Images, PDFs, videos and other files are attached to the real estate post as attachments.

Thanks to the extreme backwards compatibility of WordPress, WP-ImmoMakler® is likely to be compatible with future WordPress versions even without plugin updates.

HTTPS is fully supported by WP-ImmoMakler® so that the website can be delivered via a secure connection. Google rewards HTTPS websites with a better ranking. In addition, the website is better protected against warnings aimed at the secure processing of personal data thanks to the secure transmission of the integrated contact form.

The data exchange between the broker software and WP-ImmoMakler® is carried out using the industry standard OpenImmo-XML. The broker software writes the real estate data to an XML file and then uploads it together with images, PDF files, etc. via FTP to an upload directory on the WordPress web server. WP-ImmoMakler® monitors this directory for new files with every page view and automatically imports them directly into the WordPress database. Once set up, it is no longer necessary to log in to WordPress to manage the properties. Properties can be created, changed and deleted directly from the broker software, as you are already used to from portals such as ImmobilienScout24, ImmoNet, ImmoWelt and many others.

Numerous WordPress filters and actions can be used to exert a very strong individual influence on the processing of the data. For example, individual, user-defined fields can be transferred and read from the broker software or any other fields can be specially evaluated or changed.
WP-ImmoMakler® is optimized for use on small web packages as well as on large web servers!

We have been a full member of OpenImmo e.V. since 2015 and regularly work closely with ImmobilienScout24, ImmoNet, ImmoWelt etc. on the future of data exchange in the real estate industry.

Spam emails via the request forms can be minimized by using the built-in Google reCAPTCHA query. All you need is a free API key, which you can easily register with Google.

WP-ImmoMakler® works seamlessly with the free WordPress plugin "Metronet Reorder Posts" and thus allows an individual order of the properties by drag-and-drop with the mouse.

The geocoordinates of the properties are automatically determined by WP-ImmoMakler® via the GoogleMaps API at the time of import, unless the broker software transmits its own coordinates.

If you require interfaces to other third-party providers (WordPress plugins, panorama views, video service providers, etc.), individual implementation is of course possible!
